Agilent / HP / Keysight 1660ES
1660ES 136-Channel 100 MHz State, 500 MHz Timing Benchtop Logic Analyzer w/Oscilloscope
Description
The Agilent/HP 1660ES is a portable benchtop logic analyzer which enables design engineers to purchase an affordable logic analyzer that meets their exact needs while matching their budget.
The HP 1660ES model comes with a built-in, 500-MHz, 2-GSa/s oscilloscope that can be triggered by the logic analyzer. Some of the tougher hardware debug problems can be found only with the digital triggering capabilities of a logic analyzer and can only be solved with the analog resolution of an oscilloscope.
The 1660ES has 136 channels and it can be used in parametric and mixed signal testing with integrated two-channel pattern generator.
The HP 1160 family of miniature probes was developed as a result of intensive market research on logic probing.
The probe was developed with a browser that never slips off the test point being probed and short to some adjacent point. The browser uses a crown point that digs into solder, and won’t slip.
These probes include a variety of ground leads and 50 mil SMD clips for attaching to different grounding points. Each HP 1660ES series logic analyzer ships with the HP 1160 family passive probes.
The HP 1660ES logic analyzer was designed to make things easier by bridging the gap between the hardware and software worlds. The HP 1660ES covers a wide application range from the isolation of elusive hardware flaws to the debugging of real-time code. It all displayed together with time correlation and markers that track between code and waveforms.
The HP 1660ES logic analyzer has five modes of timing analysis so hardware designers can adapt the analyzer to the speed and type of data they need to capture. Conventional timing analysis resolves time intervals as short as 2 ns between edges. Transitional timing is right for situations when you need to look at data bursts with periods of inactivity between.
Some of the tougher hardware problems can be found only with digital triggering and solved only with an oscilloscope. So, the CS models come with a built-in, 1-Ga/s oscilloscope that can be triggered by the logic analyzer.
Many important capabilities have been added to the 1660ES logic analyzer to help software engineers. The modules of 1660ES have functionality that was previously available only with more expensive logic analyzers.
The HP Software Analyzer package gives the high level view required for faster debug by displaying a disassembled state analysis listing with symbolic data in a window along side the source code listing which makes finding elusive software defects a lot easier.
