Advantest Q8326
Optical Wavelength Meter
Description
The Advantest Q8326 unit is an optical wavelength meter capable of high accuracy and high resolution measurement at the central wavelength of the light from laser diodes (LD) for DWDM. Using a He-Ne laser as the reference wavelength and the Michelson interference method for measurement, it assures a high accuracy measurement. This unit even provides a high sampling rate of 5 times per second, and is suitable for adjustment of oscillation wavelength from laser diodes for DWDM. Wavelength variation can also be measured with high resolution and high accuracy using a deviation display function. The Q8326 optical wavelength meter enables high-precision measurement of laser and light emitting diode wavelengths and frequency. Although the Q8326 has been designed to withstand a certain amount of noise riding on the AC power line, it should be used in an area of low noise. Noise cut filter can be used to avoid ambient noise. To ensure that the measurement accuracy is within specifications, the Q8326 must be placed horizontally with an inclination of less than 10 degrees. The Q8326 can be used safely under these conditions: Altitude of up to 2000 m, Installation Categories II and Pollution Degree 2. Although the Q8326 is equipped with FC-type connector-adapter as standard, SC-type and ST-type optical connector-adapters are also available. To replace the adapter cap w/ another; unscrew the adapter cap and appropriately store the original. Remove dust from the outside of the Q8326 by wiping or brushing the surface with a soft cloth or small brush. Use a brush to remove the dust from around the panel keys. Hardened dirt can be removed by using a cloth which has been dampened in water containing a mild detergent.
