Agilent / HP / Keysight E4417A
E4417A EPM-P Series Dual-Channel Power Meter
Description
The Agilent/HP E4417A belongs to EPM-P series power meters.
The EPM-P series E4417A power meter operates with the E-series E9320 family of power sensors for peak, average and time-gated power measurements.
The Agilent E4417A also operates with the existing 8480 series, E-series CW and the E9300 range of power sensors for average power measurements.
The E4417A power meter has two measurement modes, Normal mode and Average only mode.
Normal mode (default mode using E9320 sensors) for peak, average and time-related measurements. The Average only mode is primarily for average power measurements on low-level signals, when using E9320 sensors, and is the mode used with 8480 series sensors, E-series CW sensors and E-series E9300 sensors.
The E4417A with the E9320 power sensors measures the complex modulation formats of TDMA and CDMA standards, as well as emerging wideband CDMA (W-CDMA) standards for 3G wireless communications.
The EPM-P E4417A power meter works with the E9320 peak and average power sensors to create a low-cost
solution that answers a wide range of manufacturing test needs.
The Agilent E4417A power meters and E9320 sensors provide a measurement speed, over the GPIB, of up to 1,000 corrected readings per second. The power meters’ 20 M-samples per second continuous sampling rate gives you the ability to accurately profile complex modulation formats of up to 5 MHz bandwidth, and modulation bandwidth correction ensures accurate peak measurements on signals such as CDMA or W-CDMA.
Real time markers allow closer analysis of the signal under test. The gate control screen provides graphical signal representation of delta time, delta average, and delta peak and delta peak-to-average ratio with respect to markers 1 and 2 on the display.
The trace control feature provides a trace zoom feature for closer examination of a signal. This feature makes the E4417A Ideal for investigating glitches and overshoot, and for closer examination of the rise time or fall time.
