Advantest R3271
Spectrum Analyzer 100Hz to 26.5GHz
Description
The Advantest R3271 is a swept-tuned spectrum analyzer with an analog-to-digital section for displaying and analyzing data.
In the specified frequency and display ranges, the analyzer features a maximum resolution of 10 Hz.
The R3271 analyzer is equipped with GPIB remote control and a memory card function for saving and recalling waveform and data and panel settings.
In the options, there are delay sweep (option 71), a built-in controller (option 15), and GPIB command extension (Option 73).
A precise measurement mode is available in the R3271 that uses the built-in reference crystal to measure with 1 Hz accuracy signals too weak to measure with a counter.
The R3271 provides the ability to observe directly the electric field strength and the QP (quasi-peak) value. Also a digital memory CRT screen that displays signal traces without flickering.
The digital memory of the R3271 allows marker functions for accurate and easy reading of trace values. A zero span mode allows the R3271 analyzer to be set to a sweep time of 50 ms. This is useful for analyzing wave bursts and modulation.
Two independent channels are available in R3271 for simultaneous display of two traces. The R3271 automatically switches to accommodate the proper range as it can be operated in both of two voltage ranges: 90 to 132 V or 198 to 250 V.
The R3271 analyzer is designed to compensate for noise from AC power lines. If necessary, install a noise suppressing filter in the analyzer’s power supply.
Clean the R3271 analyzer’s anti-glare filter periodically with a soft cloth. Normally, it will need to clean the filter surface. However, if the CRT display screen itself is dirty, remove the filter and clean the CRT with a soft cloth.
The R3271 use a tracking generator to increase their dynamic range at high frequencies. In the input range from 3.5 GHz to 26.5 GHz, tracking must be adjusted between the preselector’s sweep frequency and the input sweep frequency. The auto peaking feature provides a convenient way to do this.
The R3271 analyzer has excellent spectral purity, a resolution bandwidth of 10Hz to 3MHz, the ability to sweep the complete frequency range continuously and repeatedly and a built-in frequency range counter are just a few features that make this an exceptional value.
This unit can measure the ultra-broad bandwidth of 100Hz to 26.5GHz in one sweep operation.
It can also perform the sweep continuously and repeatedly. This unit is thus ideally suited for mobile radio communication, for which narrower bandwidths and digitalization are being advanced.
In the past, such high performance equipment was used only for advanced R&D; however this level of performance is now needed on a commercial level.
