Advantest Q8383
Optical Spectrum Anal 550 to 1750nm
Description
This analyzer is a high end optical spectrum analyzer using a new monochromator developed by Advantest and featuring a high dynamic range and a high wavelength resolution.
It offers the world's highest level of performance with a 10pm wavelength resolution and a 20pm wavelength accuracy in the 1.55um band.
The Advantest Q8383 is an optical spectrum analyzer of the decentralized spectrum method employing diffraction lattice monochrometer.
Wide dynamic range in the Q8383 is obtained by the adoption of double-pass monochrometer. The range of 55 dB in a state 0.5 nm away from peak wavelength. The range of 65 dB in a state 1 nm away from peak wavelength.
The Q8383 incorporates the AMP system for high-speed measurement of light pulse under test. By synchronizing measurement by the external TTL signal, more stable spectrum can be obtained.
Various aspects have been taken into consideration to make measurement easier. The panel key arrangement, soft key menus and basic key functions can be specified in the first hierarchy. Four types of spectral width measurement functions, power monitor function, cursor function and various display (3-dimensional data, dual screen, and super-impose).
The measurement data can be easily output using a high-speed thermal printer having a printing speed of less than 8 seconds.
The Q8383 should not be used in a dusty place or expose it to direct sunlight or corrosive gases. A cooling fan is provided in the analyzer to prevent abnormal temperature rise. Since the fan blows air inside, make sure that the area around the analyzer is well ventilated. The fan filter should be cleaned periodically.
Also avoid blocking the air intake holes of the analyzer. Since the analyzer is a precision instrument, do not subject it to vibration or use it on a table where it was overturn and never connect the power cable to an AC line when the power switch is ON.
The Q8383 analyzer can be used in combination with peripheral devices such as a desktop computer and plotter. When connecting a peripheral device, pay special attention to the CMV which may be caused by wiring failure of the power source grounding.
To clean the Q8383, wipe with the cloth which is dry or soaked in the neutral detergent.
